Grenada 2017 - Day At The Beach
December 2018
It has been three years since we stopped at the island of Grenada. We decided it was time to go back and do some further exploration. Additionally, cruising friends are there. They found a used scuba tank for sale for me and we have some mail for them. So off to Grenada we went.
We usually anchor in Prickly Bay. Customs and Immigration has an office in Prickly so that is one reason to anchor there. Additionally, getting ashore and catching transportation around the island is fairly easy from Prickly.
Being in our fifth cruising season, we know a few people. We hadn't been anchored long before sv Illusions hailed us to let us know that tomorrow a group was going to the beach and we could come if we wanted. They were busing to Morne Rouge Bay. Okay. Sure. A beach days sounded awesome! Especially after spending the fall in Chaguaramas where there aren't really many beaches.
Morne Rouge Bay was lovely. We grabbed a shady spot to drop our stuff, grabbed some beers and promptly waded out into the water and stayed there. Ahhhhhhh..... Lunch was fish tacos at a kewl little beach bar. Ahhhhh...... The cruiser chatter wasn't about boat projects and To Do Lists like it was in Trinidad but instead about kewl places and fun events coming up. Ahhh......The cruising season is in full swing. Ahhhhhh......
