Getting ready for Honduras
In a little over a week we will be headed to Roatan Honduras. Yes, you read correctly Honduras. Go ahead, check google maps. I had to. I knew it was in Central America but I just wasn't sure where specifically. The next question would be why. Sailing of course! We will be joining Patrick and Nancy on their Tayana 42 s/v Stolen Child. As full time cruisers just out a little over a year, they graciously invited us to come visit them "sometime" and we jumped at the chance. And how exactly does one get to Roatan Honduras? Well it turns out it is pretty easy. In fact it is a heck of a lot easier than going to the Caribbean. We will hop a plane from KC connecting thru Houston and be there in time for a late lunch and a swim. A wonderful thought as it is currently colder than a witches...well never mind. You get the idea. It's cold here. So for now the "to be packed list" has started - swim suit, snorkle gear, sun screen, hat - done! HA! We will probably have a bit more but plan to travel light so we can take Patrick and Nancy some much needed items such as their mail, 200 ft of line, 5 yrds of Sunbrella, Starbucks coffee and such. As an added bonus we will be stopping in Houston on the way back to visit our nephew Graham who is a freshman at Rice U. The Game Warden aka Jeff has agree to house sit and feed the creatures aka our cats Reba & Larry, so I think we are set.

The Beginning
2009 is shaping up to be the year of acquiring new skills. Some through classroom, some through hands on experiences, still others through adventures and finally through the fascinating people we continue to meet in person and through the internet. Starting a blog is part of the learning.
